Decide on which bird box or bird feeder to make you don’t have to be a carpenter to follow these simple step by step drawing to build any of these bird box projects and pick up all the material that are required to complete the project.
Next get all of the required tools and start marking out the pieces of wood these projects should not take long to complete. Start carefully cutting out the pieces of wood to the desired sizes. Next start and put the pieces together it is like a 3D jigsaw, make sure you follow the step by step guide. Personally I would nail all the pieces of wood together and screw the top down. This is for when you get a bird nesting in your bird box you can clean the bird box out after they have finished nesting with ease, unscrew the screws and take out the birds nest ready for the next family of birds to nest in your bird box.

Bird Box Location.

Once you have built your master piece and now its time to choose the perfect location. Mount the bird box where you can see all the visiting activity during the nesting season where the bird box is sheltered from the weather, strong winds and too much sun will put any nesting birds off also you want to put the bird box out of predator’s reach. All you need to do now is wait until you have your first visitor to your bird box. Once you have had a family of bird nesting in your hand made box the birds usually return the following years to come. Make sure you have plenty of food and water in your garden to help the birds decide that they want to nest in your garden. Having a supply of food and water will definately help your chances of attracting birds that want to nest in your garden.

The smaller projects costs less than $10 to build where as the larger projects are close to $30. The costs will be far cheaper if you build the bird box yourself than if you were to buy the same thing in a store.
